So mom and kathi came to see me this past weekend! Oh my goodnes I am good to go for a while! I must say that the weekend did not exactly go as planned though…
On their way to town I received a call from Kathi and this was the conversation, “Kim, mom and I are in Houston to change planes and oh um mom hurt her foot” “What, what do you mean she hurt her foot?” “Well I don’t exactly know, I was walking in front of her and I looked back and she was on the ground” “How bad is it?” “Well, she is now being wheeled through the airport in a wheel chair”.
Narrator’s note: New York is a Walking city! That means that you have to be able to walk around the city to do ANYTHING!!! Which also means that even to get to the public transportation you are required to walk up and down stairs.
Soooooo, mom opted to stay home Friday night to let her paw rest while Kathi and I went to dinner and Serendipity (Famous dessert place). Luckily I have a boot-like shoe that can be used for such an event since I have jacked up my ankles numerous times. So we bandaged that baby up and threw it in the boot! She was good to go but not exactly at the pace that Kathi and I were walking. Oh, I also forgot to mention that the first day out on the street mom was standing at a corner and a mother with her two children in the stroller proceeded to roll over mom’s foot (not the good one either).
All in all, it was a great time (at a much slower pace than anticipated)!
I have just enough time to wash my sheets and towels for my next round of guests this weekend! Three of the “Otters” (of the Laughing Otters) are coming to the big apple! Lookout New York, you ain’t ready for the Otters!!!
