This week was crazy! Tuesday night my company had their annual “Faces in the Wild” event. This is an auction that the company hosts in order to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund. It is really cool! People submit different art pieces and then there is a live auction. One of the pieces went for $35,000. In total, I believe they raised $75,000.
By about Tuesday my allergies started to kick in and got progressively worse and by Thursday I had no voice. I could squeak and whisper but it was pretty bad. It is tough making cold calls over the phone when you the person on the other end can’t hear you.
Some of you know that my two friends Jennifer and Krista came to NY this week to See the New Kids on the Block perform on the Today show. They came in Thursday afternoon. This concert was the event of the year! People started waiting in line Wednesday to get a good spot for the concert. Jen and Krista decided they did not fly all the way up here to stand in the back so they too waited in line Thursday night into Friday morning. We ate dinner thurs night and then it was time to get serious about the boys! They decided to buy some lawn chairs and snacks and head to Rockafeller Center! They stayed there all night! I got a preview of the crowd at dinner and let me just say, most of these people risked losing their job flipping burgers to get a glimpse of NKOB (that is what they call themselves now).
Jen and Krista have a complete pictorial of this unbelievable event, once Jen sends them to me I will post them so you too can enjoy the full experience. To top things off, it was rainy and cold. All in all, they were glad they gave up a night of sleep and comfort in order to watch the boys do their thing! I must admit, the guys still look really good. They have aged well.
I was so glad the girls came but I was bummed because I could barely speak and I was looking forward to talking nonstop with friends that I grew up with. The girls left this afternoon and I am starting to get my voice back. All in all, an awesome weekend!
